Naples Depot Museum

Long concealed on the outskirts of Florida's Gulf coast, Naples was overlooked by developers until the late 1880s. It was only four decades later that the town became a hot-spot for settlement, when two competing railroads arrived within a span of ten days. Now, in the restored Seaboard Air Line Railway passenger station, the Naples Depot Museum brings the bustling rail boom days of the Roaring Twenties back to life. It offers an insightful exploration into how technology and transportation were harnessed by Southwest Floridians to tame a massive and challenging frontier. Visitors can experience Seminole dugout canoes, a traditional mule wagon, an antique swamp buggy, restored rail cars and engaging interactive exhibits, all narrating the tale of Naples' transformation from a sleepy village of 300 inhabitants into a glamorous Gulf coast resort as we know it today.
